The Optos nanosatellite, for which TTI developed the RF Communication Subsystem, was launched

OPTOS Project

TTI collaborated with INTA in Optos project, developing in collaboration with TAS-E the RF Communication Subsystem for the nanosatellite in UHF band. The RF Communication Subsystem is a transceiver that uses the ESA communication protocols such as ECSS E 70 to communicate with the ground segment, and ECSS- E 41 for telecommands and telemetry.
The OPTOS nanosatellite was launched on Nov. 21, 2013 as a secondary payload on a Dnepr vehicle from the Dombarovsky (Yasny Cosmodrome) launch site in Russia. The overall objective of Optos is to demonstrate new technologies in spacecraft development.
