TTI sets its sights on continued growth & innovation

TTI has announced a new management structure alongside plans to expand its production facilities and grow its highly skilled team to meet growing demand for its specialist solutions in radiofrequency, antenna technologies, satellite ground stations, and test and monitoring & control systems.

With increasing requirements for its technology products from customers across the satellite communications, broadcast, aerospace and defence markets, TTI has recently stepped up its manufacturing capability at its Santander location, installing three new production lines for satcom antennas and Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs).  Further capacity will come from an additional production line and a drive on recruitment, to enable the business to carry on growing and enhancing its range of innovative products and services.

Overseeing the expansion will be TTI’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cristina Barquín. Cristina was previously Deputy CEO of TTI and has managed several of its engineering groups as head of department, giving her a good overview of the business.

After gaining a degree in Telecommunications & Radiocommunications at the University of Cantabria, Cristina was Systems Engineer at Indra Espacio near Madrid.  She then became Project Manager at the Fundación Leading Innova, a non-profit foundation that supports businesses in research and development of technological innovation projects, before moving into business development at TTI in 2011.

TTI’s former CEO Juan Becerro has moved to the new position of Chief Operating Officer of the Celestia Group, TTI’s parent company.  Juan has worked for TTI for a number of years in senior roles and has been instrumental in enhancing the business’ reputation as a leading player in its field as well as building a high achieving team.   Also at group level, Steve Jones moves from being Group Strategy Director to its new CEO, taking over from José Alonso who has decided to step down to focus his energies on other business interests.

Announcing the changes, Celestia Group CEO Steve Jones says, “I would like to congratulate both Cristina and Juan on their new appointments.  Cristina has made a significant contribution to TTI’s success, and her strengths will be a major asset in meeting the challenges of continuing to take the business forwards.”

“Juan, meanwhile, will use his knowledge and experience to maximise the collective strengths of the individual companies within the group and support our current ambitious growth targets.  I am looking forward to working with them both as we continue our plans to offer a complete innovative alternative to our customers,” he says.

Cristina says, “I am delighted to be taking on a new role at TTI and to be working with our strong team to deliver our goals of continued growth and innovation. We want to carry on innovating and bringing new products to the market that currently do not exist, driven by our customers’ needs to solve their evolving technical and commercial challenges, through technical excellence and investing in further expansion of our capabilities. We have set our sights high and it is an exciting time to be at TTI,” she says.

To meet increasing commitments, TTI is seeking talented people in a number of technical roles, including engineers in various different disciplines, interested in a rewarding career in a highly professional and interesting environment.
